Built according to Gary Willis' favourite specs, the Ibanez GWB1005-NTF 5-string bass is armed with a passive Bartolini GWB bridge pickup and a Bartolini NTBT 2-band EQ. You also get a finger ramp that supports extra-dynamic performances, and even the tuning buttons have been customised to Gary's taste and feel especially comfortable. Add the sound of the solid alder body, the maple neck and the ebony fretboard and you've got a build recipe that's perfect for jazz.

Going Fretless

Gary Willis is a true jazz legend and a master when it come to playing fretless bass guitars. Needless to say, this signature model doesn't come with any frets and, while it may take a while to get used to, it's definitely worth getting to grips with since the resonance is superior compared to fretted basses. In addition to jazz and funk, this high-spec, Japanese-made bass can take on a wide variety of styles and puts you in total dynamic and tonal control.
